TIme of Day
There is nothing more magical than the sand, the surf, and the sun. And of course the memory of that perfect day in Hawaii.
Too bright and harsh light is not ideal for photographs. During the day the color of everything, especially the water, will be vivid and bright. The light is just too bright and harsh in the middle of the day where there is little or no shade, and the sun’s rays reflected on the sand can also add to the harshness creating shadows and squinting.
Early morning and late afternoon generally have the best lighting for beach portraits. About one hour before sunset or very early in the morning the light is much less bright. The angle of the sun provides a lovely, soft light that is warm and golden for the most beautiful portraits.
